Kenneth Lindner, Owner

Thank you for visiting our website! My company and I look forward to the future opportunity to help you and your home with tremendous products, service, installation, and care.

Ken began his career in the industry over twenty years ago working for a large, national exterior remodeling company. When he decided to establish the brand of Red Carpet Remodeling in 2004 his goal was to build a company that made sure the client was ALWAYS the central focus. At times, this was forgotten in the mid 2000s when the economy was booming and RCR was focused on the next project.

In the late 2000s, after the economic distress, Ken decided to become the main face of the company and be active everyday on the front line with his spectacular team.  Ken meets clients at local home shows and festivals, presents his company's benefits and installation procedures by visiting prospective clients at their homes, or "saying hello" to RCR's clients during their installation.  If and when you decide to trust Red Carpet Remodeling you will have access to his personal cell phone.

He started from the ground up by canvassing neighborhoods, then managing the operations crews and excelled in his career, while earning his MBA at Towson State University in 1999.  In the early 2000s, he was entrusted to co-open and head the consultants and operations teams; the branches were in Lawrenceville, NJ and South Orange, NJ. After successfully establishing two branches and being acknowledged as a top-performer, year after year, Ken decided to grow his own company.  Equipped with drive, enthusiasm, an expertise in business development and operational experience, Ken has established a company known for quality products and installation, value and top-notch customer service as evident by client reviews.

Personal and Fun Facts

Ken and his wife, Stefanie, have two daughters and a dog named Oscar -- be sure to check out Oscar's bio.  He also enjoys hiking, playing tennis and basketball, going to dinner on weekends with Stefanie, barbecuing with friends, and spending time with his family.

Ken loves being silly and singing and dancing with his two girls.

Favorite Sports Teams: New York Mets, New York Jets, and the New York Knicks. He does root for the local teams, the Washington Nationals and Baltimore Orioles, the Washington Redskins and Baltimore Ravens, and the Washington Wizards when they are not playing his teams.

Favorite Movies: Shawshank Redemption and Goodfellas

windows installation

According to the AWDI, Over 90% of Window and Door problems are the result of poor or incomplete installation. National statistics prove year after year that, when properly installed, windows will perform up to specifications for longer than the warranted life of the window itself. Excessive condensation, air leaks, heat loss, warped or out-of-square windows are the result of faulty installation - not faulty manufacture. Unfortunately, these problems won't usually show up until months after the installation. And worse, they are not covered by the manufacturer's window warranty.

When you choose Red Carpet Remodeling, you are ensuring highly trained and skilled craftsmanship for your individual project. The Installation Teams are over-certified through third party organizations through Installation Masters, American Window and Door Institute (AWDI), American Architectural Manufacturers Association (AAMA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to assure your complete satisfaction. Your window professionals are required to take continuing education courses to meet all specific manufacturing standards; including Vista, Softlite, and Marvin. The technicians; with proper knowledge and experience, will install your windows that will last efficiently and withstand the harsh elements.

The Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI) recommends using installers who are certified through the VSI Certified Installer Program. When you choose Red Carpet Remodeling, you are ensuring highly trained and skilled craftsmanship for your individual project. The Installation Teams are over-certified through third party organizations through the Vinyl Siding Institute (VSI), and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Your siding professionals are required to take continuing education courses to meet all specific manufacturing standards; including Crane and Alside. The technicians; with proper knowledge and experience will install your siding system that will last efficiently and withstand the harsh elements.

Vinyl siding is the only exterior cladding with a certified installer program with validation by an independent, third-party administrator. Certified Installers have at least two years of installation experience and have demonstrated knowledge on proper installation techniques consistent with the industry recognized installation standard, ASTM D4756. Certification is valid for three years after which an installer must recertify.

Red Carpet Remodeling has set forth below a set of steps during the process to what our clients can thoughtfully anticipate. These phases will be followed closely in order to establish a level of expectation and superior performance for the homeowners and ourselves.

Phase 1: Pre-Installation Procedure

  • An adequate electrical sources must be available for power tools
  • Pets must be secured from the work area
  • Test for lead – pre-78’ homes - following the stringent guidelines of the EPA
Phase 3: Installation
What are the keys to a good vinyl siding installation job?
Allowing for Expansion and Contraction
  • Vinyl siding contracts and expands as the outside temperature changes. To avoid structural or aesthetic problems associated with this characteristic, take the following steps
  • Apply nails or other fasteners in the center of the nailing slot and make sure the fastener penetrates a minimum of 3/4″ (19mm) into a framing stud or furring. Make sure installed panels and accessories move freely from side to side
  • Do not drive the head of the nail tightly against the siding nailing hem. Allow approximately 1/32″ (0.8mm) clearance (about the thickness of a dime) between the fastener head and the siding panel. Drive nails straight
  • Leave a minimum of ¼” (6.4mm) clearance at all openings and stops. When installing in temperatures below 40 degrees F, increase minimum clearance to 3/8″ (9.5mm)
  • Do not face nail or staple through siding except for one nail needed to finish at the top of a gable
  • Maximum of 20 squares per day. If there is more than a 30% chance of precipitation the installation will be delayed until the next business day
Keeping It Straight and Level
  • Keep in mind, siding is only as straight and stable as what lies under it. Below are some issues to address before you start installation:
  • In residing, strapping or removal of uneven original siding may be necessary
  • In new construction, avoid the use of green lumber as the underlayment
  • When installing a siding panel, push up lightly along the bottom until the lock is fully engaged with the piece below it for the full length of the panel
  • Throughout installation, check the panels’ horizontal alignment every few rows to make sure the siding is hanging straight and level on the wall. Also check for panel alignment around corner posts and above doors and windows
  • Maximum of 20 squares per day – we tear the siding off in sections so your home will never be exposed to the elements. If there is more than a 30% chance of precipitation the installation will be delayed until the next business day
Phase 4: Post-Installation Procedure
  • All work related debris will be “broom clean” before your project is finished

PREFERRED PARTNER - VIDEOS BY Provia
I would recommend Red Carpet Remodeling for any home improvement needs. The crew was outstanding and Ken was very patient with all of our questions and answered everything thoroughly. He was very fair with his pricing. You couldn't ask for a better company. I am very happy with the results and our house had a complete makeover by having new windows installed.
